POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Intern works directly with the Beech Mountain Resort Marketing and Events team, gaining hands-on experience with content creation, social media, events, brand management and resort marketing.

This internship comes with real responsibilities. We want someone who brings ideas and is interested in learning how those ideas become actual marketing.

Liking social media isn’t enough. We are interested in someone who pays attention to why certain content works, recognizes that a brand needs a distinct voice and wants to understand how creative decisions support a business.

You should notice trends without automatically following all of them. Good judgment, creativity, curiosity and a sense of humor are important. We want interns who are willing to contribute ideas, not just wait for assignments.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN + DO

• Help plan and create social media content.

• Capture photography and video throughout the resort.

• Develop concepts for Reels and short form video.

• Assist with captions and other marketing copy.

• Research trends and consider whether they are appropriate for the Beech Mountain Resort brand.

• Assist with resort events, promotions and activations.

• Work alongside the Events team with setup, execution and breakdown.

• Help maintain content calendars and organize marketing projects.

• Gather and organize photography and video assets.

• Assist with partner, sponsor and promotional projects.

• Learn how Marketing interacts with Sales, Guest Services and Operations.

• Bring forward ideas and help turn them into finished work.

1. How would you describe the Beech Mountain Resort brand? Tell us what you think makes it different and why you want to work here.
2. Show us your sense of humor through one Reel concept. You don’t need to make the Reel. Describe what happens and why you think it works.
3. Would you call yourself a trendsetter, a trend follower or somewhere in the middle? Give us one social media trend you would use for Beech Mountain Resort and one you would pass on.
4. Pitch one ski season Reel. What would we see, what is the hook and what would make someone continue watching?
5. Share something you’ve created. This could be photography, video, design, social media, writing or other creative work. School projects are welcome.
6. Tell us something we didn’t ask. It could be something about you, an observation about our marketing, an idea or simply something you think we should know.

There aren’t necessarily right answers. We want to see how you think, how you communicate, whether you understand the Beech Mountain Resort brand and, yes, whether you read the entire job description and followed the instructions.
