smartdept. is searching for a UX/UI Writer/Content Designer for a healthcare industry client located in Deerfield, IL (open to remote). The ideal candidate will come with 5+ years of experience. This is a full-time, fully remote (with a strong preference for candidates local to Deerfield or Chicago), long-term contract opportunity with the possibility of an extension.Β 
Summary:
This role focuses on creating optimal, team member-friendly digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated writer with a passion for crafting language that drives effective user experiences across digital platforms.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Stakeholders, Researchers, Clinical, Legal, and UI/UX Design teams to ensure all content is on-brand, clear, friendly, and concise
  • Stay current in assigned areas to effectively represent the brand
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and internal details to ensure timely delivery
  • Participate in and facilitate meetings to understand business goals and objectives
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems or roadblocks
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure language consistency across all user touchpoints, including:
    • Calls-to-action
    • Navigation
    • Headers/Headlines
    • Instructional text
    • Error messages and system feedback
    • Accessibility support

What You’ll Need:

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (preferred in writing, editing, copywriting, advertising, communications, journalism, or similar)
  • Associate's degree in design and/or certificate in graphic design a plus
  • 5+ years of writing experience
  • At least 2 years of UI/UX writing experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Figma
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Experience at a creative agency or large corporation
  • Experience communicating ideas to business owners, stakeholders, and senior management
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Experience working within and pushing the boundaries of established brand voice/editorial guidelines
  • Familiarity with technical documentation for customer-facing UI
