Technical Content Writer Intern

Responsibilities
As a technical content writer, you'll need to understand basics of computer systems and technical cyber security terms. You'll need to:
- Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
- Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
- Work with development and support leads to identify all documentation repositories, revise and edit, and determine the best solution for data compilation and centralized storage
- Research, create, and maintain information architecture articles that uphold organizational and legal standards, and allow for easy data migration
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive content across all documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in relevant technical field
- 0-1 year experience as technical content writer/ freshers are also eligible to apply
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
- Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience working with engineering to improve user experience: design, UI, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
Working hours
A 10-hour working week is standard in this role, but flexible working practices are common and you may need to work outside of a typical 9am to 5pm pattern.
As many freelancers work from home and remotely (from locations outside of the organization's workplace), you'll sometimes be able to choose your working hours.

Career prospects
Your first role will typically be in a content writer trainee/intern or content writer(part- time).
With experience and relevant professional qualifications, you can move into the role of head content developer.
After working as, a content developer for around one to two years, you can progress into a content reviewer/editor. Then, with a further two to three years of experience as an associate editor, you'll be considered for larger-scale project leader and management roles and will also be considered to be a chief editor.
With several years' experience, you can move into consultancy work or set up as a self-employed content writing firm.
Career prospects are good at all levels for people with the right combination of skills, qualifications and experience.
