Position Title: Master Teacher
I. General Description:
Provide leadership through coaching that strengthens instructional practices and drives student achievement. Support teachers in analyzing student data, setting meaningful learning goals, and monitoring progress toward school and classroom objectives. Deliver real-time, job-embedded coaching and follow-up for cluster groups, Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and all K�8 teachers, modeling effective strategies and guiding implementation. Assist teachers in goal-setting, assessing instructional practices, and maintaining inter-rater reliability on teacher evaluations to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction.
II. Qualifications:
- Valid Arizona Elementary, Special Education, or Secondary Teaching Certificate
- Must meet all Arizona Department of Education certification requirements.
- Meets Criteria of Appropriately Certified
- Minimum of a Provisional SEI, ESL or Bilingual Endorsement
- Bachelor's Degree (minimum requirement)
- Must be able to pass a background check upon employment
- Must possess a valid IVP Fingerprint clearance card
- Five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience
- Proven track record in raising student achievement and/or demonstrated expertise in content, curriculum development, student learning, data analysis, mentoring and professional development
- Instructional expertise demonstrated through model teaching, team teaching, or video presentations
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to facilitate growth in adults
- Recommendation completed by current instructional administrator
- Master's Degree and/or Administrative Certificate (preferred)
III. Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of research-based professional development for cluster groups.
- Present evidence-based learning in cluster meetings that demonstrates measurable gains in student achievement.
- Model new learning in cluster meetings and in classrooms, demonstrating how to effectively implement the skill developed in cluster.
- Provide access to materials and research-based instructional methods to cluster group members.
- Work closely with cluster team members to plan instruction and assessments
- Observe classroom instruction and provide timely, actionable feedback.
- Support teachers in planning rigorous, standards-aligned lessons.
- Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Support implementation of district-adopted curriculum and instructional frameworks.
- Facilitate data analysis meetings and professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Support teachers in using formative, benchmark, and summative assessment data to guide instruction.
- Assist in developing action plans based on student performance data.
- Monitor instructional practices to ensure alignment with district and state standards.
- Support implementation of MTSS processes, including Tier I instructional strengthening.
- Provide ongoing follow-up and coaching to ensure implementation of professional learning.
- Collaborate with site administrators to identify instructional priorities.
- Participate in school leadership and MTSS team meetings.
- Serve as a resource to teachers regarding best practices, curriculum, and assessment.
- Promote a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement and high expectations for all students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all coaching interactions.
- Maintain documentation of coaching cycles and support provided.
- Provide specific evidence, feedback and suggestions during coaching, identifying areas of reinforcement and refinement.
- Advance career and mentor teachers' knowledge of state and district content standards and the NIET Rubric.
- Observe and guide mentor teachers' professional relationships and responsibilities to career teachers.
- Identify resources for career and mentor teachers that enhance instructional planning, assessment design, and classroom management.
- Develop programs that support positive behavior in the classroom and school setting.
- Provide ongoing follow-up and support (e.g. modeling, team teaching, observations with feedback) to career and mentor teachers.
- Work with other leadership team members in developing appropriate school and cluster plans to target student academic and teacher instructional needs.
- Lead and support the analysis of school and student achievement data to identify strengths and weaknesses and make suggestions for improvement.
- Communicate and reflect the visions and decisions of the NIET Leadership Team.
- Assist the administrators in inducting teachers into the NIET school environment and processes.
- Participate fully in NIET professional development at the regional, district and school level as scheduled.
- Consider the varied strengths and weaknesses and personal/cultural differences of adult learners through communication and actions that promote effective teaching with all cluster members.
- Complete assigned NIET Evaluations including: Pre-conference, Observation, Post-conference with Reinforcement/Refinement Plan, follow-up and support
- Actively support school activities and events.
- Follow District policies, procedures, and directives in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Perform such other tasks as may be assigned.
EVALUATION: Performance for this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provision of Board Policy GCO - Evaluation of Professional Staff Members.

Compensation Range: Per Year, 2026/2027
Status: Certified Teacher - Salary Schedule and District Benefits Package and Stipend for extended school year and responsibility: $7,000
Terms of Employment: 1.0 FTE, Full Time; Master Teacher Work Calendar
