• Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and internship check-ins and complete assignments by established deadlines.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned to support YMCA operations and an excellent member experience.
INTERNSHIP SCOPE AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• Assignments will be selected according to the intern's education, experience, skill level, and the YMCA's current priorities, with appropriate supervision and feedback.
• The internship is intended to provide real-world experience in nonprofit marketing, public relations, community engagement, philanthropy, and cross-department collaboration while helping the intern build a professional portfolio.
• The intern may draft content and prepare materials but may not issue official statements, publish content, make financial commitments, or represent the YMCA externally without prior approval.
• The schedule may be arranged around academic commitments when operationally feasible; occasional evening or weekend work may be required for events, photography, or campaign activities.
• The YMCA will cooperate with reasonable academic-credit or evaluation requirements when arrangements are approved in advance.
This internship is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position scheduled to begin at the beginning of the semester and conclude at the end of the semester. Employment will automatically end at the conclusion of the internship period unless the YMCA provides written notice of an extension or offers separate continued employment.
