The Marketing Intern is responsible for serving as the department’s intern for day-to-day activities of the Marketing team to ensure completion of task that support the work of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include those listed below; other duties may be assigned, as needed.
o Understand ISA’s vision statement and adhere to ISA staff core values.
o Support Marketing Specialist(s) with, developing and executing digital marketing strategies across all digital channels - email, web, organic search, and social media to optimize marketing campaigns.
o Support Communications Specialist by assisting in writing articles, press releases, web copy as needed.
o Support Events Specialist and Assistant by assisting in event logistic support, including: drafting email copy for event attendees, researching vendors for services needed, assisting with developing Events collateral such as fliers, brochures, prospectus and video content.
Attend and participate in team meetings.

Education and/or Experience
o Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred, or a Senior majoring in the degree programs listed above.
o Experience in online marketing and promotions, preferably in a non-profit environment is a plus. Understanding of marketing, communications, social media, and promotions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
o Experience with web technologies and software
o Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
o Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and/or Javascript is preferred
o Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced business environment
o Detailed oriented, analytical, curious, and self-motivated.
Language Skills
o Fluent in English, both verbal and written. Fluency in additional languages is a plus.
o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
o Ability to write and edit correspondence in a professional manner.
o Ability to read and analyze information and draw conclusions.
Decision Making and Reasoning Ability
o Ability to synthesize and interpret large volumes of information to use for decision making.
o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, develop conclusions, and determine appropriate action plans.

Technology and Equipment
This position will use a variety of software programs. The ideal candidate will have the following technical competencies:
o Proficient in Microsoft 365 including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with multiple web content platforms
o Experience with Google Analytics
o Experience working with Adobe InDesign or other graphic design software suite a plus
Experience using a variety of social media platforms and social media management tools (Hootsuite) a plus
