SCOPE: The Copywriter, Story & Events is responsible for helping to bring Seed Company’s mission to life through compelling narratives. This role involves crafting engaging scripts for live and virtual events, as well as supporting broader storytelling initiatives that amplify our impact. This role is a skilled storyteller who can translate complex ideas into clear, inspiring content that connects with investors, volunteers, partners, and communities we serve. During event off-seasons, this role will support the broader needs of the Communications team.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Write, edit, and proofread scripts for fundraising events, virtual programs, award ceremonies, volunteer recognition events, and other organizational presentations, including for forWORD, Sprout, Family Camp, and others.
  • Collaborate with the CEO’s office, PR, program, communications, and development teams to create cohesive messaging for events and campaigns.
  • Ensure all content reflects the organization’s mission, values, and brand voice.
  • Incorporate cues for hosts, speakers, and performers to ensure smooth delivery during live and virtual events.
  • Research and gather content that highlights program outcomes, personal stories, and community impact.
  • Contribute creative ideas for event themes, campaigns, and investor engagement strategies.
  • Adapt content for multiple formats, including video scripts, social media posts, and digital communications.
  • Support broader storytelling initiatives by writing and editing content for newsletters, website stories, social media, case studies, and impact reports as needed. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

  • No supervision requirements.

OTHER DUTIES: 

  • Attend and participate in a variety of meetings and task force groups as directed and maintain the required level of knowledge pertaining to operating procedures, requirements, processes, and policies.
  • Lead and or participate in projects or task force groups that focus on issues having organization-wide impact.
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required or directed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job operates in a professional office environment within a highly collaborative, synergistic, high-paced team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Occasional exertion up to 10 pounds, lifting a box of paper, moving chairs, tables, and sliding doors.

TRAVEL:

Domestic travel is expected for group and THRIVE meetings. Potential for travel to the field for story gathering.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong faith in Jesus Christ as Savior; God-honoring lifestyle.
  • Passion for the Word of God and provision of the Word for every people group.
  • Championing Seed Company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of professional writing and/or editing experience in journalism, marketing, public relations, and/or advertising. 
  • Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills, producing polished, audience-focused content.
  • Excellent command of language, storytelling, and persuasive writing.
  • Curious, research-oriented, and able to synthesize information into engaging copy.
  • Collaborative mindset, team-focused, and proactive in achieving project goals.
  • Ability to understand and adapt messaging for target audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent collaboration and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team.
  • Proficiency in but not limited to Monday.com and Ziflow.
  • Microsoft Word, Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat, and web browsers.
  • Experience in marketing or communications copywriting, or content writing, preferably in a team or agency setting.
  • Familiarity with digital content tools, SEO principles, and analytics preferred.
