About the Role
Monks is looking for a TEMP Senior Copywriter / Copyeditor to support one of our largest technology clients. This role is primarily focused on providing expert copyediting and technical feedback across multiple rounds of drafts, ensuring clarity, consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand and product standards.
While this role may occasionally contribute original copy, its core responsibility is to refine, strengthen, and quality-check existing content, working closely with creative, production, and client teams to elevate work through precise language, structure, and tone.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in the details, understands how copy functions within complex digital ecosystems, and brings a strong editorial eye to fast-moving, iterative workflows.
Note: This is an exempt temporary role through April 15, 2026, and it requires 3 days/week onsite in Cupertino, CA.
In this role, you will:
- Provide in-depth copyediting and proofreading across multiple review cycles, ensuring accuracy, clarity, consistency, and polish.
- Offer technical and editorial feedback on copy drafts, identifying issues related to structure, logic, tone, grammar, terminology, and brand alignment.
- Ensure all copy adheres to client style guides, brand voice, and editorial standards.
- Collaborate closely with writers, producers, designers, and account teams to refine content efficiently and constructively.
- Review and edit copy across a range of deliverables, including digital platforms, microsites, landing pages, product content, and marketing materials.
- Track changes and feedback clearly, managing multiple versions and rounds of edits with strong attention to detail.
- Flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or potential risks in copy early, helping teams resolve issues before final delivery.
- Support quality assurance efforts by ensuring the final copy is error-free and production ready.
Experience you already have:
- 6+ years of professional experience in copyediting, copywriting, or editorial roles within advertising, marketing, digital content, or related fields.
- Exceptional command of grammar, syntax, punctuation, and editorial best practices.
- Proven ability to edit and improve copy written by others, often across multiple iterations.
- Strong attention to detail - you spot issues others miss and care deeply about precision.
- Familiarity with brand voice, tone, and style guidelines, and the ability to apply them consistently.
- Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments with tight deadlines and evolving scopes.
- Clear, thoughtful communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when delivering feedback.
- Comfort working independently while staying closely aligned with broader team goals.
- Ability to balance editorial rigor with pragmatism—knowing when to push and when to adapt.
At Monks, we believe in fostering an environment where a diversity of perspectives can thrive. We proactively work to design hiring processes that promote equity and inclusion while mitigating bias. We celebrate diversity and are committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve.
