Job Description

Nielsen is seeking a dynamic, creative, tech and culturally savvy writer and storyteller for our global media intelligence company.  In this role, your mission is to bridge the gap between our world class data capabilities and products and the strategic needs of our customers (advertisers, agencies and media outlets) by translating complex insights into sticky-of-the-moment stories. We are looking for a storyteller who lives at the intersection of data and culture, someone who has their finger on the pulse of the zeitgeist and can intensively explain the ‘why’ behind the data.

You will create and develop different forms of copy content for articles, reports, brand stories, taglines, video scripts, case studies, and more from data points, historical trends and creative concepts. You will help position our company as an industry leader with high-quality and relevant short and long form content that drive brand awareness and lead generation.

We are looking for a writer who can take high-level data intelligence and transform it into high-impact marketing assets. You’ll be the bridge between our data scientists and our customers, turning raw metrics into narratives that prove our value and establish us as industry thought leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Copy Content Creation: Write high-quality and relevant, culturally competent content for multimedia marketing assets (short and long forms). Ensure copy is customer insight-led, audience-driven, and optimized for performance across digital, social, events, and sales channels. You will ensure our content connects Nielsen’s data to the trends and conversations currently shaping the advertising and media landscape.

  • Storytelling: Translate creative concepts, technical products, platforms, solutions and media insights into clear, differentiated culturally savvy, media readyB2B narratives. Additionally you will turn raw metrics into authoritative stories that resonate with the industry’s pulse and ensure that our stories are timely and impactful.

  • Collaborate with Experts: Work with our internal data analysts and product managers to extract insights that become the backbone of our content strategy. Partner with different marketing functions to develop copy that supports the full funnel, from awareness and demand generation to enablement and retention.

  • Multi-Format Output: Develop the narrative architecture for diverse deliverables including client storytelling emails, digital assets, social series, sales enablement pieces, event panels, podcasts, and more.

  • Quality & Accuracy: Maintain a fanatical devotion to detail; ensuring that while our stories are engaging and vibrant, they remain rooted in the unassailable accuracy that defines the Nielsen name.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with a strong reputation as an expert.

  • B2B Media/Tech Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the global media landscape, audience measurement, B2B, or PR tech..

  • Exceptional Writing & Communication: A portfolio that proves you can write with heart, authority, and clarity, and can guide others to do the same.

  • Analytically Minded: You don’t just write what you’re told; you look at the data and ask, "What’s the story here?"

  • Versatile: You can pivot from a punchy 15-word LinkedIn ad to a 2,000-word technical deep dive without losing your mind (or your voice).

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English Literature, Strategic Communication, Marketing or equivalent experience; advanced degree or specialized certifications preferred.
