Role Overview:
As a Product & Application Engineer with PPC responsibilities in the Defence sector, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support of advanced defence products. This hybrid role demands a strong technical foundation, customer-centric mindset, and operational planning expertise to ensure products meet stringent defence standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the technical liaison between customers (defence agencies, OEMs) and internal teams.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support during product trials, integration, and deployment.
• Develop application notes, user manuals, and training materials for end-users and field engineers.
• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with defence project timelines and delivery milestones.
• Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics teams to ensure material availability and production readiness.
• Monitor WIP (Work-In-Progress), inventory levels, and capacity utilization to optimize throughput.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Lead the design and development of defence-grade products, ensuring compliance with military standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive product innovation and reliability.
• Conduct design reviews, FMEA, and validation testing to ensure product robustness in harsh environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in product/application engineering, preferably in defence or high-reliability sectors.
• Strong understanding of defence standards (MIL-STD etc.) and rugged product design.
• Proficiency in CAD tools, ERP systems, and project management software.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience working with defence PSUs, DRDO labs, or armed forces.
• Knowledge of defence procurement processes and documentation
