The Summer Employment Program provides summer employment opportunities to children, step-children and spouses of Mayo Clinic employees enrolled in a degree granting program of study and is intended to help supervisors accommodate employee vacation requests when seasonal work volumes are high. Position is temporary.
Patient appointment services specialists (PASS) facilitate patient visits and support health care providers by anticipating and responding to patient needs and requests of the health care team.
As a PASS, you will use patient-specific information to accurately determine the nature of an appointment request and independently schedule and confirm patient appointments. Position is on-site.
You will be expected to:
Utilize strong technical skills to navigate electronic tools to determine accurate appointment scheduling
Multi-task across multiple computer resources to update patient electronic health information (For example; insurance)
Coordinate complex scheduling which may include multi-specialty itineraries
Leverage phone etiquette and customer service skills to accurately communicate with patients and the health care team
• Must be a child, step-child, or spouse of a current Mayo Clinic employee.
• Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting program.
• Must be returning to college in the fall.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 10 weeks.
• Must be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program
SEOP employees should not expect vacation/days-off to be approved during their commitment.
