Hearst UK operate a hybrid working model of four days per week in the office and one day working from home. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James’s, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.
The Role…
Harper’s Bazaar, one of Britain’s leading luxury fashion publications, is looking for a talented Junior Writer & Content Creator to join its team.
This is an exciting role for a journalist who is in the early years of their career and has a strong interest in luxury fashion, beauty and culture, from the most exciting new shopping trends to the make-up innovation everyone is talking about.
We are looking for someone who is brimming with ideas and enthusiasm to continue building the brand's legacy across different platforms.
Main Duties…
Pitch and write daily stories for Harper’s Bazaar UK’s fashion, beauty and culture verticals, which includes writing articles that are optimised for Google Discover and SEO.
Use internal data and analytics to shape ideas, with the aim of maximising the reach of all digital pieces.
Interview brand founders, designers, celebrities and talent for features, pegged to fashion week shows, red carpet events, upcoming projects and more.
Build and schedule the bi-weekly newsletter and coordinate with the commercial team to oversee advertisements and paid inclusions.
Upload regular features for the site and reactive news-led pieces.
Attend features meetings and regularly pitch ideas for online.
Be across fashion, beauty and culture, and know about the latest launches, trends, openings and upcoming projects.
Attend evening and weekend events (such as Fashion Week) when required and represent the brand externally, as well as being confident in front of the camera.
Support the Harper’s Bazaar team in hitting digital targets
Support on Harper’s Bazaar events with coverage when required
What We Are Looking For…
An excellent grasp of journalistic fundamentals with an ability to research ideas thoroughly and shape them into well-structured features.
An ability to write quickly and accurately to a high standard.
A strong interest in fashion, beauty and culture. We're looking for someone who is immersed in every aspect and able to identify and translate stories that will interest the Bazaar reader.
Excellent organisation, who can work concurrently on different projects and with different team members while keeping to deadlines.
Contacts and knowledge of the industry across fashion and beauty.
