 Fundraising Marketing Copywriter needs 3–5 years of experience in copywriting, marketing, or advancement communications, preferably within higher education or the nonprofit sector.

Marketing Copywriter requires:

• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a focus on persuasive, audience-centered messaging.

• Strong ability to create storytelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.

• Understands fundraising principles, donor psychology, and alumni engagement.

• Experience crafting content for multi-channel campaigns (print, email, web, and social media).

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

Technical Proficiency

• Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Blackbaud, or Ellucian) and email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Emma).

• Basic knowledge of SEO and digital content optimization.

• Experience with Microsoft Teams and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.

 

Marketing Copywriter duties:

  • Collaborate with partners to develop messaging that reflects annual giving and engagement priorities and constituent interests.
  • Partner with design and digital teams to ensure content and visuals are cohesive, compelling, and aligned with brand standards.
