Our unique position as one of the country's largest employers, coupled with our commitment to positively impact the lives of all Canadians, provides our colleagues a range of opportunities and experiences to help Canadians Live Life Well®.
At Loblaw Companies Limited, we succeed through collaboration and commitment and set a high bar for ourselves and those around us. Whether you are just starting your career, re-entering the workforce, or looking for a new job, this is where you belong.
The Opportunity
We’re building an always-on roster of freelance Content Creators to help bring Loblaw’s portfolio of brands and banners to life across social.
We’re looking for social-first creators who know how to make content that earns attention, with a particular strength in food, lifestyle and retail storytelling. You know how to work a camera, understand what makes audiences stop scrolling, and can take an idea from concept through shoot, edit and final delivery.
As part of our freelance roster, you may be tapped to support different brands, briefs and cultural moments across the Loblaw enterprise, from planned content and recurring social formats to quick-turn trends and reactive opportunities.
You’ll work alongside the Loblaw Agency Social team and our brand, strategy and creative partners to create content that feels timely, platform-native and unmistakably right for the brand.
What You Could Be Doing
Concept, shoot, edit and produce platform-native content for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts and emerging social platforms.
Create compelling food, product, lifestyle and retail storytelling designed specifically for social.
Act as both creator and producer, styling, shooting, editing and, where appropriate, appearing on camera.
Translate brand priorities, trends and cultural moments into social ideas that can move quickly.
Own content creation from start to finish, including storyboarding, shot lists, shoot preparation, production, graphics and editing.
Collaborate with Social, Strategy, Community Management, Creative and Brand teams to bring ideas to life.
Bring a strong understanding of social trends, creator culture and platform behaviours to every assignment.
Help us experiment with new formats, storytelling approaches and creative techniques as we continue to raise the bar for social across the enterprise.
What We’re Looking For
A strong portfolio of social-first content that demonstrates your ability to concept, shoot and edit independently.
Strong food content capabilities, including experience cooking, styling and filming food.
Exceptional short-form video editing skills, with an understanding of pacing, storytelling, sound, transitions, text, some motion graphics, and platform-native editing styles.
Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels and other short-form platforms and an instinct for what feels native to each.
Strong visual storytelling and creative instincts with an eye for detail.
Comfort working both behind and, where relevant, in front of the camera.
The ability to turn raw footage into polished, engaging content quickly.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively from a creative brief.
Proficiency with content creation and editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar platforms.
Ability to travel to Loblaw retail locations and other shoot locations across the GTA when required.
How the Roster Works
This is a freelance, project-based opportunity, not a single full-time role.
Creators selected for the roster may be engaged throughout the year based on brand needs, content calendars, location, creative fit and specific briefs. Assignments may range from planned shoots and recurring content to quick-turn social and cultural opportunities.
The volume and frequency of assignments will vary, and inclusion on the roster does not guarantee a specific number of projects or hours.
Some assignments may require creators to work in-store, on location or from the Loblaw Agency office in Toronto, while others may be completed remotely.
We’re looking to build an ongoing community of creators with different styles, perspectives and strengths who can help our brands show up faster, more creatively and more natively in social.
Note that default salary range below relates to single role postings only and not Freelance roster calls. Rate specifics will be discussed during the interview process.
