As a Digital Marketing Intern (SEO & AEO Focus), you’ll get hands-on experience helping our team make our website and online content easier to find and more engaging. You’ll learn how to improve search rankings, optimize content, and support backlinking strategies that grow our digital presence. This role is all about learning by assisting with keyword research, analyzing website performance, and seeing how digital marketing drives real results. You’ll work closely with our marketing team, gain valuable insights into SEO and AEO, and help us connect with more people online. It’s a great opportunity to take classroom knowledge and turn it into real-world experience in a fast-growing digital space.

• Assist with SEO & AEO initiatives:   Support the team in optimizing website content, meta data, and structure to improve search visibility and enhance user experience. Learn and apply SEO best practices in a hands-on environment.

• Keyword research and content optimization:   Help identify relevant keywords, analyze search trends, and suggest ways to improve content for better organic reach and engagement.

• Backlinking and outreach support:   Learn how to identify backlink opportunities, support outreach to external websites, and track results to improve site authority.

• Support content creation:   Collaborate on blog posts, landing pages, and social content that aligns with SEO strategies.

• Team collaboration & learning:   Attend team meetings, participate in brainstorming sessions, and contribute ideas while gaining mentorship from marketing professionals.

• Digital marketing research:   Research industry trends, competitor strategies, and digital marketing tools to provide insights for campaigns.

What you will need to succeed: 

Education

Specify the type and # of years

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a university or college program in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Business, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts, including SEO, content creation, and website analytics.

Functional Experience

Experience related to functional job tasks.  Please specify the type and # of years

• Some practical experience (0–2 years) in digital marketing, SEO, content creation, or related coursework/projects.
• Familiarity with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console) and basic SEO practices is a plus.
• Experience with social media, blogging, or marketing campaigns through school projects, internships, or personal initiatives is welcomed.

Technical skills Specify tools (hardware, software) and level of proficiency required:  e.g. MS Office, data analytics, social media and digital platforms, technical writing, project management, product management, coding and programming

• Basic understanding of SEO and AEO principles, including on-page optimization and keyword research.
• Familiarity with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console).
• Experience or willingness to learn content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or HubSpot.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Canva and Google Workspace.
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
• Interest in learning backlinking strategies and how they support organic growth.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in digital trends, search marketing, and online growth strategies.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a team.
• Creative mindset with a willingness to experiment and learn from results.

Language(s) required: Specify the language (speaking, writing, reading) and level of proficiency required, e.g. fully bilingual in both official languages

In Canada, depending on the location/province, English is required, and bilingualism (French) may be an asset.  OR French is required, English may be asset.
