The Opportunity: 

The Content Writer plays a key role in the development of a Safe Haven ELT curriculum through the Safe Haven English language training and curriculum coordination stream. The Content Writer will work closely with the Safe Haven English Language Training Providers Advisory Group, Project Manager, and other Stakeholders to ensure course materials are well-structured, easy to comprehend, and aligned with educational objectives to optimize learning outcomes. It is a space for Safe Haven ELT provider organizations to meet in order to discuss emerging topics, share experience, challenges, and successes to inform the development of a Safe Haven ELT curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop content for the Safe Haven ELT curriculum. 
  • Write clear, concise, and engaging educational content, including course outlines, learning objectives, assessments, and scenarios. 
  • Attend Curriculum Writing Team Meetings and provide DCRS leadership with a summary of notes regarding the plans for language curriculum development activities. 
  • Edit and proofread course materials to ensure quality and consistency. 
  • Regularly revise and update content based on feedback from learners, instructional designer, and organization, ensuring continuous improvement. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in professional development. 
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of a program and collaborate with others to gather information and best practices to produce content. 
  • Connect with teachers and managers to determine their clients’ needs and develop course content accordingly. 
  • Oversee the design and development of a diverse range of courses by generating high quality content across various subjects and disciplines, ensuring alignment with course objectives and target audience needs. 
  • Conduct thorough research to gather accurate and up-to-date information from Subject Matter Experts 
  • Create high-quality written content, including lesson plans, lecture scripts, quizzes, assignments, and supplementary materials, adhering to established content guidelines and standards 
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts, instructional designer, and project manager to enhance course content with visuals, interactive elements, and multimedia resources. 
  • Drive continuous improvement in content quality and instructional effectiveness through research, feedback analysis, and ongoing professional development. 
  • Meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills. 
Qualified candidates will possess:

  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Writing, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a content writer, preferably in the field of employment or education. 
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring accuracy in content.
