About the Position
The Content Writer will support the department’s HR team by writing informative articles relating to HR topics for their knowledge library. The goal for these articles is to conduct research, collaborate with teams across the organization, and produce knowledge articles that guide the team members’ cases for resolution. Below are the key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain the knowledge library and find opportunities for article creation, and conduct regular audits for article relevancy and accuracy to ensure quality and relevancy of articles
- Communicate with different groups across the organization
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and relevant teams to proactively collect, edit, and create new content in alignment with the HR voice
- Conduct research in specific topic areas and properly cite article sources
- Keep knowledge articles current
- Work closely with the front line Experience Team to understand and resolve gaps in the knowledge library
- Partner with communications teams to ensure knowledge library is aligned before the communication is launched to team members
- Read daily communications from various team locations to develop or revise article content
- Write, review and revise knowledge articles to ensure compliance with the HR content standards
- Support the overall team member experience through clear, consistent, and concise writing.
- Upholds knowledge article standards in accordance with copywriting best practices for customer-facing content
- Revise articles based on editorial feedback and guidance
- Proofreads colleagues’ work and recognizes patterns of improvement for articles and knowledge library as a whole
- Contribute to daily standup discussions concerning best practices for article creation and knowledge library growth
- Employ SEO principles so that articles are easily findable within knowledge base
- Own a portfolio of content categories withing the HR knowledge base. Possible categories include: benefits, employee total rewards, compensation, policy, career development, payroll, time reporting, etc.
- Optimize the quality, relevancy, and completeness of the content to achieve an 80% Tier 1 resolution rate within each respective category
- Serve as a content advisor during periods of change within their respective categories
- Anticipate and consult with Content Owner on which categories need to be pursued or uplifted due to major upcoming change points, seasonality or trends in team member questions
- Support onboarding of new SMEs and new categories
- Partner with SMEs to maintain quality and integrity of each knowledge base category as it grows
- Contribute to growth of HR as a service
- Utilize understanding and experience of knowledge processes to contribute to both technical and process-based platform improvement opportunities
- Participate in discussions with the Experience Team and Product Owner regarding platform enhancements
- Contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the style guides, onboarding guides and knowledge library audit guidelines
- Stay informed of writing standards to optimize customer-facing content for consumption on mobile and chat
About You
This is what you should possess to be successful in this role:
- 1-2 years minimum technical writing skills/experience
- Manual user-facing content (customer facing)
- Some Journalism experience/background in story telling/research skills highly preferred
- Research background in HR
- Training, creating training materials, knowledge on SEO works (current team uses ServiceNow)
- Writing samples (links included in resumes)
- Business/academic writing experience
- Passion for all things grammar
- Strong team attitude
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Storytelling abilities
- Interest of background in writing HR-focused articles
- Ability to support on-site
- Fluency in English; must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or in the future
