Position Summary
The Content Creator and Manager is responsible for producing high-quality, engaging content and ensuring it is shared consistently and effectively across MBBA’s communication channels. This role is primarily execution-focused, with opportunities to contribute to content strategy and creative direction in partnership with the Director of Marketing and Communications.
This position plays a critical role in shaping MBBA’s engagement and presence by telling compelling stories, capturing the energy of our events and programs, and developing dynamic content that connects with our audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation and Production
Develop and execute creative content ideas that elevate MBBA’s brand and storytelling
Create engaging social media content, including graphics, copy, short- and long-form videos
Capture photo and video content at MBBA events, programs, and partner events
Produce and edit video content optimized for digital platforms
Collaborate internally to translate organizational priorities into compelling content
Content Management and Distribution
Develop and manage content calendars and ensure timely, consistent storytelling across platforms
Coordinate publishing schedules and maintain brand consistency
Organize and maintain a digital content library of photos and videos
Repurpose content across multiple channels to maximize impact and reach
Collaboration and Strategy Support
Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications on campaign planning and content strategy
Contribute creative ideas to support organizational initiatives and events
Support cross-functional teams with content needs
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design, or related field (2 additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
2-5 years of experience in content creation, social media management, digital marketing, and dynamic storytelling
Must embrace our “member-first” philosophy – prioritizing members in all we do
Demonstrated experience producing engaging photo and video content
Strong storytelling and visual communications skills
Proficiency with common content creation and editing tools
Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences
Reliable access to transportation and willingness to travel locally or statewide as needed
Alignment with MBBA’s mission and commitment to closing the racial wealth gap by advocating for Black-owned businesses

Content is created and published consistently, on schedule, and aligned with MBBA’s brand
MBBA’s social and digital presence is engaging, professional, and reflective of our impact
Events and programs are captured and translated into compelling visual storytelling
Internal teams experience reliable support for their content and communications needs
Content workflows are efficient, allowing leadership to focus on strategy while execution runs smoothly
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
