About the Role

As a Bilingual Copywriter for one of the largest automotive companies in the world, you'll collaborate with art directors, account managers, creative directors, and strategists to craft compelling French and English copy across various materials. You have extensive lived experience and understand the nuances between French and English Canada. A fast and flexible team player, you thrive on new opportunities and possess strong writing skills. You maintain high standards in your craft, delivering impactful results across multiple touchpoints. You bring creative energy and positivity, working effectively in teams with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging French and English copy across various deliverables—from social content and web copy to display advertising and e-commerce
  • Work with Creative Directors to maintain brand voice and messaging standards
  • Present ideas and respond effectively to feedback, maintaining clear communication with creative and account teams
  • Identify and assess the differences between FR and ENG, and recommend and adjust messaging to work for the French market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive work forward
  • Execute copywriting for multiple projects and client brand workstreams
  • Develop copy for projects in production, working with the team to refine ideas and strengthen concepts
  • Ensure all work meets brand guidelines and client objectives
  • Partner with designers and animators to develop engaging content
  • Adapt writing style across diverse projects and brands
  • Contribute positively to Monks' culture and client relationships

About You

The essentials:

  • 3-5 years of professional copywriting experience for the French Canadian market in advertising and marketing
  • Experience writing compelling copy and brand narratives
  • Ability to write effectively from briefs and existing drafts
  • Strong creative and analytical skills
  • Understanding of brand voice and tone guidelines
  • Ability to contribute to creative discussions
  • Automotive industry experience preferred
  • Strong portfolio showcasing work across multiple formats
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Working conditions:

  • On occasion the role may involve tight deadlines and work beyond the standard work day, requiring flexibility and a commitment to maintaining high standards under pressure.
  • Collaboration with teams across different locations and time zones is frequently necessary.

What We Offer

Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
