Position Summary:

The marketing internship with McWhinney is a great opportunity to develop strong oral and written communication skills and gain experience working in a creative marketing environment and fast-paced firm. The Marketing Intern is responsible for helping with corporate marketing initiatives, special projects, communications, community engagement and events, and will perform administrative duties as assigned. Our preferred candidate is a dedicated self-starter that prioritizes accuracy and excellency in their work. The marketing team is often working on multiple projects at a time, so time management and organizational skills are necessary.

 

This internship will last 3 months from around June 3rd – August 30th, with the start date being flexible depending on school schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Support:
    • Assist in updates to marketing presentations, flyers and brochures as needed
    • Assist in coordination of company assets
    • Assist in preparing, posting, and distributing of marketing materials
    • Assist with the marketing photo library
    • Maintain current supply of marketing materials
    • General errands as assigned
    • Maintain positive partner and vendor relations
    • Perform special projects as needed
    • Filing management and clean up
    • Reporting assistance
  • Digital Marketing Support:
    • Assist in managing digital marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns, website updates and online advertising
    • Collaborate on content creation, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and promotional objectives
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of digital marketing efforts
  • Event Assistance:
    • Provide support to senior director and managers for corporate and community events
    • Support and attend corporate and community events which may include setup, tear down, decorating and greeting
    • Attend planning meetings, coordinate bids, and manage vendor scheduling as needed
  • General Support:
    • Assist with printing and copying of marketing and support materials
    • Assist in gathering information upon request
    • Update and maintain vendor list

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • This internship is open to current Undergraduate or Graduate students
  • Studying Marketing, Communications or related preferred
  • Proficiency with Canva & Microsoft Office Suite. Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is helpful but not required
  • Strong oral and communication skills
  • Excellent communication; team player
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment
  • This internship will operate on a hybrid schedule with 50% of hours required to be in-person
